16-8-2 A Dilute Hybrid between 308H & 316H
16 Chrome-8 Nickel-2 Molybdenum

Applications:
Historically 16-8-2 has been used for welding thick section 347H:
  • Matching weld metal has low stress rupture ductility.
  • HAZ relaxation cracking is aggravated by matching 347H weld metal.
Now 16-8-2 is also being specified for welding 3XXH's.
  • 304H, 316H, 321, 347H
Low Ferrite 1-5 (regardless of welding parameters or technique)
Limiting the Moly Enhances Ductility and Reduces Thermal Fatigue
Temperatures up to 1470 F (800C)
Temperatures down to -320F (-196 C)
